The UK team is made up of a Board of Trustees who are responsible for the general control and management of the charity and a UK Coordinator who oversees the running of the programme and manages our London based office. We also have a group of volunteers who help and support the work of the charity on a regular basis.
Kerry Hammond (Chair)
Kerry joined Winant Clayton Volunteers as a Trustee in August 2013 and comes from a background in fundraising and charity work. While studying for her degree at The University of Exeter, Kerry led the student volunteering organisation and is currently a volunteer at her local Citizens Advice Bureau. The experience of working within the local community with young carers, the elderly and the homeless encouraged her to join Winant Clayton Volunteers. Kerry has been involved in various community and corporate fundraising enterprises including raising £10,000 for a volunteering project in Ghana.
Kerry is currently training to be a solicitor and is working at a law firm in London. Based on her background Kerry hopes to work within Charity or Housing Law.
Hilda was a Clayton volunteer in New York in 1993, she then became involved with WCV again when joining the board of trustees in early 2011.
Emilie was a Clayton in New York working for St Bart's homeless shelter in 2010. Her experience in the States encouraged her to join the board of trustees at the end of her degree at the University of Exeter, her role now focuses on the volunteer programme.
Emilie is currently training to be a city lawyer at the University of Law with the sponsorship of a magic circle firm. During University, Emilie volunteered as a trustee of the student union and finance committee, and was social secretary, treasurer and president of various societies. Emilie is trilingual an hopes to pursue a career in international law.
Mary was a Clayton in New York in 2008, working for Project Renewal (a substance abuse homeless shelter). The experience led her to continue to be involved in outreach projects when she returned to London; volunteering for a number of soup kitchens and interning at Shelter. Mary currently works as a credit risk analyst and joined the Board of Trustees in 2013.
Erica is a charity sector professional who is committed to building the capacity of communities through volunteerism. She works with the British Red Cross supporting Retail (South) in volunteering issues, recruitment and planning.
Prior to her time at British Red Cross, she managed the diversity program at American Red Cross South Carolina Blood Services Region, trained staff and volunteers in Managing Diversity in Service Delivery and Outreach, and launched a statewide Diversity Advisory Board, which explored opportunities to leverage and value diversity for the region. Recently in Poland, she volunteered with Polska Akcja Humanitarna, the largest international humanitarian action organization in Poland, as a Diversity trainer for their delegates. For the past 5 years, she has been an Online/Ground Faculty member with the University of Phoenix facilitating a Diversity course.
Alanna joined Winant Clayton Volunteers as a full time Volunteer Programme Coordinator in December 2013. She has a background in Charity Administration and studied English Literature and Art History at a London university. Alanna has volunteering experience, currently working with the Kingston Centre for Independent Living for their news team, and fundraising experience, including raising funds to travel to China to take part in the Student Olympic Games as part of the Great Britain Women's Ice Hockey team. Prior to WCV, Alanna spent the last few years living in Canada and volunteering as a Project Coordinator and fundraiser for a Creative Arts Centre in Toronto.
